As the day progressed we started putting Medicine Balls underneath everyone. Otherwise, as fatigue sets in, and it does fast, there is a strong tendency to squat more shallow. The ball provides immediate feedback and keeps the athlete consistent.

In other cases the ball (and a riser) is used to limit someone’s depth. If the ball is too low for the athlete due to flexibility issues the lumbar spine flexes in an effort to contact the ball. This is unsafe and can wear the discs out quickly. For those cases we raise the ball up even higher to accommodate their current level of mobility.

A lot of PRs today on the Bench Press. Tim working his way up to 210#, a new PR for him.
