The Balancing Leg Swings has become part of our standard warm-up. I like it for several reasons. 1. It stimulates the nervous system, 2. It promotes dynamic flexibility. Two pretty important components of a warm-up.

Certain clients are more prone to injure their back during Deadlifts than others, partly due to their inflexibility. To ensure they maintain proper position we sometimes tape them. It has to be done at the beginning of the workout before the athlete starts to sweat. Staying neutral for an hour is challenging. But it lends insight into how often we actually do flex our spines.
