Competition is the ultimate litmus test. Is what you're doing working? The only way to really know is to test it against several unknowns. To put yourself out there in a way that can and will expose potential weaknesses, so that the litmus test can also serve as a guide for where to go next; where to put your next surge of energy; and if the rigors of such competition are for you. Some are broken. but others rise up and discover an unknown ability to perform in the face of challenges. I for one love competition. It's a mixed bag of emotions, fear, and exhilaration. Few can make a living doing this. But it doesn't matter. Because one of the prevailing purposes of life is, among other things, discover who we are in moments of difficulty and uncertainty.

Self realization and self-actualization is only possible in such moments.
